How much did Figma raise prices?

Earlier coverage recorded Figma Professional rising from $12 to $20/editor/month (+67%) after the Adobe deal. First-party checks on Sept 24, 2026 show full-seat list prices of Professional $16, Organization $55, and Enterprise $90 per month.

Why did Figma raise prices after the Adobe deal?

After the $20B Adobe acquisition collapsed due to regulatory pressure in late 2023, Figma needed to demonstrate independent revenue growth. Without Adobe's backing, Figma raised prices to fund its own R&D, AI features, and path to profitability.

What are the best Figma alternatives in 2026?

Top Figma alternatives include Penpot (completely free and open source), Sketch ($12/editor/month for Mac), and Adobe XD (discontinued). For teams wanting a free solution, Penpot is the strongest option with collaborative features similar to Figma.

Is Figma still worth it at current list prices in 2026?

For professional design teams, Figma remains the industry standard with the best collaboration features. Full-seat list prices checked Sept 24, 2026 are Professional $16, Organization $55, and Enterprise $90 per month. Small teams and freelancers should evaluate Penpot (free) as a viable alternative.

Will Figma raise prices again in 2026 or 2027?

Why Figma Raised Prices: The Adobe Deal Collapse

The Timeline

September 2022: Adobe announces $20B acquisition of Figma
December 2023: Deal collapses under EU and UK regulatory pressure
February 2024: Adobe pays $3B breakup fee to Figma
Mid-2024: Figma announces AI features, signals premium positioning
Late 2024/Early 2025: Figma raises prices +67% across all paid plans
2026: Prices remain at the 2025 level — no further increases yet

Why the Increase Was Inevitable

After the Adobe deal collapsed, Figma faced a fundamental business problem:

No $20B exit: The company needed to prove it could generate returns independently
IPO pressure: Figma's investors needed a path to liquidity — that means showing revenue growth
R&D funding: AI features (Figma AI), Dev Mode, and new products require massive investment
Market position: Figma has 80%+ market share in collaborative design — pricing power is real
VC-subsidized pricing ending: 2/month was never sustainable long-term for a tool this complex

💡 The Pattern: When a major acquisition falls through, the acquired company almost always raises prices within 12 months. They need to prove standalone viability. Figma is textbook.
