Analytics
We use the following analytics and marketing services:
- Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID: G-NPZ5JQ1R77) — tracks page views, feature usage, and user journeys to improve the product. Sets cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to distinguish unique visitors.
- Google Ads conversion tracking (ID: AW-18173722863) — measures which ad clicks lead to signups or purchases. This is loaded on marketing pages (homepage, pricing). No personalized ads are displayed on PricePulse.
Cookies & browser storage
We use cookies and localStorage:
- GA4 cookies (_ga, _ga_*) — distinguish unique visitors, expire after 2 years
- Google Ads cookies — attribute conversions to ad clicks
- Session cookies — maintain authentication state (Supabase auth tokens)
- localStorage: UTM parameter capture (for attribution), A/B test variant assignment, client-side analytics event buffer, CTA variant tracking
You can clear localStorage and disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling cookies will prevent analytics tracking but may affect login persistence.
Account data (Supabase)
When you create an account, we store in Supabase (hosted on AWS):
- Email address and password hash (for authentication)
- Monitor data: URLs you choose to monitor, monitor names, check frequency preferences
- Usage data: When you access your dashboard, which alerts you view, feature usage events
- Pricing snapshots: Historical data captured from URLs you monitor
Supabase uses row-level security — you can only access your own data.
Payment (Stripe)
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe handles all payment data under PCI-DSS compliance. We receive only: payment status, subscription plan, and customer email for account linking.
Email communications (Resend)
We use Resend to send:
- Transactional emails: Welcome email, password reset, payment confirmations, price alert notifications, renewal reminders
- Drip sequence: Automated onboarding emails to help you get started
- Occasional announcements: New features or important changes
URL monitoring
When you add a URL to monitor, our system periodically fetches that page to detect changes. We store:
- The URL itself and the monitor name you assigned
- Pricing data extracted from the page (snapshots over time)
- Timestamps of checks and detected changes
- Alert triggers and notification history
We do not store full copies of monitored pages long-term. Temporary copies may exist during processing.
Data retention
- Pricing history: Retention depends on your plan (Free: 7 days, Starter: 90 days, Pro: unlimited)
- Account data: Retained until you delete your account
- Email delivery logs: Retained by Resend in accordance with their retention policy
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing purposes
- We do not display third-party advertising on PricePulse (Google Ads is used only for conversion attribution of our own ads)
- We do not access or read the content of your monitored pages for any purpose other than detecting the pricing changes you requested
Data export
You can export your monitor list and data via the /api/export endpoint (available in CSV and JSON formats) while authenticated. This includes your monitors and associated pricing data.
Account deletion
To delete your account and all associated data, email hello@getpricepulse.com. We will remove your account, monitors, pricing history, and email from all systems. There is currently no self-service account deletion in the dashboard.
Unsubscribe
Every email contains an unsubscribe link. Clicking it immediately removes you from marketing and drip sequence emails. Transactional emails (password reset, payment confirmations) will still be sent as needed for your account.
Your rights
Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to:
- Access all personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Export your data (via the export API or by request)
- Opt out of analytics by disabling cookies
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Third-party services
Security
- All data transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit)
- Passwords are hashed (never stored in plain text)
- Database uses row-level security (you can only see your own data)
- API endpoints require authentication
- Stripe webhook signatures are verified
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy occasionally. If we make material changes, we'll notify you via email or a notice on the site.
